    Sidney Kess
    CPA, J.D., LL.M.

    Nationally renowned tax expert and author/coauthor of hundreds of tax books on financial and estate planning. Having lectured to more than 800,000 practitioners on tax, financial and estate planning, he is one of the nations best known lecturers in continuing professional education.

    He is the recipient of the AICPA Distinguished Lecturer Award. He is often quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and other national publications. He was included in Accounting Todays100 Most Influential CPAs in the U.S. for several years and in CPA Magazines 2005 and 2006 100 Most Influential CPAs in the U.S.

    He was the national director of taxes at KMG Main Hurdman and a tax partner at KPMG Peat Marwick. He is the recipient of the AICPAs Special Recognition Award for his many years of contributions to the AICPAs continuing professional education program and the National Association of Estate Planners Distinguished Accredited Estate Planner Award for his distinguished service to the field of estate planning.

    He received his JD from Harvard University School of Law and LLM from NYU Graduate School of Law.

    Harry M. Markowitz,
    Ph.D., Winner of Nobel Prize in Economics

    for the development of "portfolio theory." Portfolio theory determines portfolios combinations of assets -- which minimize risk on the portfolio as a whole for various levels of expected (or likely) return on the portfolio His analysis of the tradeoff between portfolio risk and return has become standard. Much of modern financial theory, such as Nobel Prize winner William Sharpes Capital Asset Pricing Model, is based on Markowitz portfolio theory.

     

    Sheldon Cohen

    Robert L. Israeloff,

    Former Chairman of AICPA

    B.S. (Wharton), M.B.A. (Taxation, Baruch College), past Chairman of the Board of the American Institute of CPAs, past President of the New York State Society of CPAs, and an active member of a number of professional organizations.

    He is the founder and Officer of Israeloff, Trattner & Co., CPAs, P.C., and has served as a noted speaker and author of numerous articles on professional issues. He was awarded the AICPA Gold Medal for Distinguished Service, the CPA profession's highest honor, and selected by Accounting Today as one of the 100 most influential CPAs in the United States.     Shirley D. Peterson

    A.B. (Bryn Mawr, cum laude), J.D. (NYU, Honor Scholar), is a former Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service and Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Recently retired as President of Hood College, she had practiced law for over 20 years at Steptoe & Johnson in Washington D.C.

    She was active in the Tax Section of the American Bar Association, serving on its Council and as Chair of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee. She was a Regent of the American College of Tax Counsel and the American College of Trust and Estate Council as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Tax & Policy Institute.

    She was appointed by then Senator Dole to serve on the National Commission on Economic Growth and Tax Reform.

    Jerome J. Shestack
